How did it start?
The Project began in www.passejadesmusicals.cat, tours in the heart of the historical and architectural Heritage of the Catalan Pyrenees bringing the unaccustomed public nearer to chamber music.
After five years of various events, offering a high standard of musical programmes in little known places, the tours have become established as a cultural, leisurely alternative to traditional tourism in the Pyrenees.
The musical walks in La Cerdanya were designed to pay homage to the figure of J. S. Bach as a composer and performer as well as a great walker.
The list of composers linked to Barcelona is never-ending. We are thinking, for example, of Albéniz, Granados, Tàrrega, Pau Casals, Larrocha, or Victoria dels Angels, and so many others.
It was none other than Pau Casals, walking down Ample Street in Barcelona, who found the six suites for cello written by J. S. Bach in an old bookshop. Casals was so impressed by their profound beauty of these works that it took several years before he introduced them to the public.
Professionals of culture, music and communication, who offer a different and unforgettable type of experience for visitors to Barcelona, have brought this project about.
Designed for tourism of incentives, intellectually dynamic, music lovers, people who are curious and are looking for a different side to Barcelona, both historical and authentic.
COMMITTED TO CULTURE
This project was conceived from the very beginning to recognise and explain about the city, respecting its history, paying homage to people who have created, inspired or contributed to making it such a marvellous place for everyone. But most of all, we are committed to transmitting our culture.
